15 MAY 2005 Pentecost Sunday
Response from Pastors
Rev. John Illsley,
Senior Minister, Methodist Church (English Speaking) WanChai

"Wherever I have served as a pastor previously, I have had the privilege of sharing in times when all the Christians in an area came together to pray. And on each occasion God has blessed that togetherness and those united prayers. But this Global Day of Prayer, involving hopefully 200m Christians worldwide, is something beyond any of our experiences. I want to give it my full support and that of the church I serve. The anticipation of what God will do because we come together to pray for our nation is exciting."

Pastor David Marriott
Pastor, Union Church Hong Kong

"If Hong Kong is to be a city transformed by the power of God then Christians of all traditions and backgrounds must come together to pray. We must pray for our government, for those working in law and order, in education, in health, in social welfare and in all areas of our society. We must also pray for our families, our neighbors and our friends. Let us pray that God will move in our city and that Jesus Christ will be acknowledged as both Savior and Lord. Let us unite as one mighty praying force and call out to God to transform this city for His glory. May this prayer event on 15 May be the beginning of something mighty as we see God move with power."
